BMW E39 530i ABS Control Module Heat Shield

  

The ABS Control Module on the E39 is located adjacent to the engine's exhaust manifold which subjects the module to extreme heat. Over time, this heat causes the solder joints in the module's circuit board to fail, rendering the unit inoperable. This heat shield greatly reduces the heat that reaches the ABS Control Module so much so that the module remains cool to the touch after spirited driving! The result is a long-lasting ABS Control Module. There are a few of these shields available on the market, but here are some reasons why this shield is much improved on the other available designs.

The ABS Control Module is completely isolated from the heat shield. Many shields available mount directly to the ABS Control Module body, which negates the heat deflecting purpose of the heat shield.

The heat shield extends down past the exhaust headers so that heat from the headers cannot get behind the shield and reach the ABS Control Module from the bottom. The rugged and simplistic design blends in well with the rest of the engine bay. The heat shield is mounted through existing threaded fasteners in the engine bay. All mounting hardware is included with the heat shield. This heat shield has been designed and tested specifically for the E39 530i.

While the engine bays for the 528i and 540i E39 variants are similar, this heat shield has not been tested with those variants. Small modifications may allow for this shield to fit those other E39 variants, but no guarantees are expressed or implied. The heat shields are made to order.
